Water Electrolyzers
An Electrolyzer stack converts water, via
electrolysis, into gaseous hydrogen and oxygen. The products are output gases and heat,
with no pollution. These stacks are capable of utilizing any
electrical source (solar, hydro, turbine, etc.) to produce hydrogen and oxygen.
These gases can be used for powering fuel cells, providing breathing oxygen, and
a variety of other applications.
Giner has designed a variety
of electrolyzer stacks for military and commercial customers.
Applications include: providing O2 for life support;
providing H2 for corrosion control, electric generator cooling and
electronic and materials processing; gas chromatograph detectors, metal forming,
and welding.

Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Electrolyzers

A PEM electrolyzer uses a solid
polymer electrolyte to transfer protons and water. When
combined with catalysts, an Membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) is formed. When an external
circuit is completed and power is supplied, the electrolyzer
decomposes water and produces hydrogen and
oxygen gases.
