Staff Scientist/Staff Engineer

Giner, Inc. develops proton exchange membrane fuel cells, electrolyzers, electrochemical sensors, batteries, and capacitors.  We are seeking a candidate for a Staff Scientist/Staff Engineer position. The candidate will contribute to several government and/or privately funded research programs with applications in the energy, environmental, defense, industrial and biomedical fields.  The candidate will have the opportunity to directly contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge research in electrochemical technologies which includes materials development, instrumentation, and prototype systems.

The Staff Scientist/Staff Engineer candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g. chemical, mechanical or materials), physics or chemistry. Laboratory experience from internships, summer positions and/or coursework is necessary. Candidates with additional experience (e.g. 2+ years research experience in industry or academia or from a master’s thesis) could be considered at the Project Scientist/Project Engineer level.

A candidate must:

  • have experience in planning, analysis and interpretation of laboratory experiments.
  • have experience with laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis software.
  • be a self-starter and problem solver.
  • be interested in learning new technologies.
  • have good hands-on and analytical skills.
  • have good oral and written communication skills.

 


Manufacturing Technician

Giner Electrochemical Systems, LLC (GES) is looking for a manufacturing/engineering technician. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for:

  • mechanical and electrochemical component fabrication and assembly.
  • working independently with sufficient judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.
  • completing short production runs accurately.

A high school diploma is required and vocational training is a plus.
Experience with ISO-9001 requirements is useful but not required.
Coursework knowledge or a demonstrated interest in chemistry/electrochemistry or work experience within a chemical/electrochemical environment is strongly preferred.
