Advanced Capacitors
For Medical, Military, and Consumer Applications
Giner, Inc. capacitor technology replaces the liquid electrolyte commonly used in capacitors with an all-solid ionomer electrolyte (Nafion or similar material). This approach has been used in both electrochemical (pseudo) capacitors and high-voltage (hybrid) capacitors. These capacitors are ideally suited for applications needing repeated bursts of power for fractions of a second to several seconds, while the all-solid design eliminates the possibility of accidental fluid leakage. The high-voltage capacitors can store several times as much energy as a conventional electrolytic capacitor while retaining the ability to deliver energy at high discharge rates. They combine the advantages of the electrochemical capacitor (high energy density, high power density) and the electrolytic capacitor (low ESR, high voltage rating) to provide efficient power transfer for a given application.
The voltage, capacitance, and discharge rate can be customized for medical, military, and consumer applications.
